Last Door has partnered with Psychologist Linda Robbins & Dr. Paul Stein, M.B.B.S. FRCPC (Psychiatrist) to enhance mental health and addiction recovery services to residents.

Linda Robbins, Registered Psychologist

lr_001Linda Robbins, M.A., Registered Psychologist, has over 25 years of experience with a broad range of psychological issues as well as a variety of addiction issues. Linda has provided care in the addiction spectrum of continuing care, including residential, outpatient, aftercare, groups, and families. She has taught, supervised and trained professionals and para-professionals in these areas. In the Vancouver Community College Substance Abuse Program, Linda developed modules for the program, and also taught and directed the Certificate Program for several years.

In her private practice, she has worked with a variety of clients, including RCMP and medical professionals. Linda’s post-graduate professional training included Transactional Analysis, Gestalt Therapy, Integrative Interpersonal Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, EMDR, and CBT. Most recently, she has been studying Mindfulness.

Services offered by Linda include :

  • Psychological assessment of addiction issues, including concurrent disorders, PTSD, depression and anxiety.
  • Recommendations for treatment and treatment readiness for specific treatments.
  • EMDR for recent and past trauma.
  • Liaise and consultation services with Last Door and other referring agents.

Dr. Paul Stein, M.B.B.S. FRCPC

pauloct2011Dr. Stein received his M.D. from the University of London, England, and worked in various hospitals in England and Canada before joining the Department of Family Practice at the University of Western Ontario, where he became Faculty and obtained certification for the College of Family Practice. He then studied Psychiatry at McMaster University, obtaining the Fellow of Royal College of Physicians in Psychiatry.

Dr. Stein worked for several years with the Vancouver Community Mental Health Team and was also involved with the Active Outreach Programs. He also worked in Bermuda as the Senior Psychiatrist at a hospital, teaching and supervising residents, as well as working in the Prison and Forensic system.
In addition to his medical training, Dr. Stein graduated from the Toronto Gestalt Therapy Program and also trained in Integrative Therapy. He is experienced in treating PTSD, concurrent disorders, anxiety and depression, medically and therapeutically.
Dr. Stein services include :

  • Assessment and treatment of PTSD, anxiety, depression and other mental disorders.
  • Prescribing of appropriate medication and provision of follow-up services.
