Youth Addiction Program Philosophy
Last Door Youth Program provides treatment for drug and alcohol use, prescription medication overuse, and excessive video gaming. Last Door Youth Program fosters experience-based learning that enables clients to change values, beliefs and behaviours.
Our “social model perspective” on architecture and environment involves both the individual and his social and physical environment. We focus on the social and behavioural aspects of the physical setting, creating recovery-focused abstinence supported space.
Once stabilized, clients are encouraged to explore interests, practice conflict resolution, regain a sense of self and develop meaningful friendships. Contracted tutors are available to assist clients with academic goals. Experimental Learning LDYP offers a variety of recreational activities such as dances, gym passes, hiking and sporting and community events. LDYP also offers Outdoor Therapy at its countryside retreat facility “Keystone” Family also encouraged and welcome to participate in recreational activities.
Addiction Recovery Support Networks
Parents can choose to attend weekly Parents Group sessions post-treatment – this has resulted in lifelong friendships with other parents and offers support and encouragement to newer members. Program alumni often continue to attend our Emerging adults (aka “young guys”) and Older Adult (aka “old guys”) Alumni Support Groups for years as their recovery journey continues.

What to Do When Your Child Is Using Marijuana
Facing a child’s drug abuse causes damage in a family, feelings of guilt and repair taker heir toll. Many teens think marijuana is not dangerous because it is legal now in Canada. Sadly Last Door has seen a rise in youth needing treatment for marijuana addiction.
Dealing with a child’s experimental or more developed drug use can be difficult, but Last Door Recovery Programs can help. Marijuana is often one of the main drugs of choice among teens and adolescents. Stop the harms of addiction early. The first step to helping your child is to help yourself, learn about recovery, learn about harm reduction, learn about the signs of problematic drug use. Last Door can provide you connections with drug and alcohol interventions and family coaching services, or inpatient treatment.

Accredited Addiction Treatment
Professional Youth Addiction Treatment you can trust. Last Door is a Licensed Community Care Facility and accredited by Accreditation Canada. As a licensed facility our programs participate in regular, comprehensive oversight and reviews by Fraser Health Authority. This ensures that our program maintains safe services to clients and their families.
We believe that Accreditation creates stronger teams by improving communication and collaboration and promoting learning. Accreditation aligns with our value that recovery is a shared experience – from our front-line staff and volunteers to board members, patients, and families, we are in this together.
Through a learning process that is interactive and not boring; by activity; from frequently conveyed stories of peer experiences, personal anecdotes, metaphors and/or analogies youth develop a recovery-based lifestyle. This experimental learning approach helps integrate the recovery based education with what they experience unfolding in their daily lives during treatment.
Clients can conquer historical self-defeating patterns and, in practical terms, learn to confront challenging situations while taking responsibility for the choices.
Youth become active in community affairs, school, social and recreational activities and in our long running successful alumni group. Though participation in a youthful community, clients keep recovery and prevention practices on their agendas.
Program alumni who maintain acceptable standards of recovery are always welcome to visit the facility on both casual and formal basis and are invited to participate in ALL activities.
Regular contact and conversation with staff is offered to client and family members post treatment. Parents can continue to attend weekly Parents Group sessions and Alumni can attend our weekly Youth Program Alumni Group. Regular contact with staff is offered to client and family members are offered post treatment. This allows for referrals and connections with other resources throughout the recovery process, or simply when high stress and uncertainty occurs in their lives.
