My recent appointment as Executive Director of Last Door Recovery Centre is an opportunity and a privilege that I have not taken lightly. During my tenure at Last Door I developed an appreciation and understanding of the complexity of this organization and the lives that depend upon strong, good leadership. My predecessor and mentor David Pavlus instilled in me the value of continuing engagement with client’s and families, the importance of making time for a coffee and a conversation, knowing peoples’ names and their stories and of always being approachable and available to staff and stakeholders.
I am committed to maintaining the integrity, values and views of our founders. My leadership principles commit to never losing sight of our primary purpose to help clients and their families learn to live a new way of life, by respecting, loving each other, celebrating recovery and making it fun.
Lastly, I want to say thank you to David Pavlus, the Last Door Recovery Society Board of Directors and our amazing staff for believing in my ability to lead but more importantly for our collective commitment to recovery.
About Jared
Jared has worked at Last Door Recovery Society for over a decade, beginning as a Client Care Worker, then as an Addictions Counselor, Adult Program Manager and was recently as appointed Executive Director after a nine month tenure as Acting Executive Director. Jared’s diligence and commitment to learning helped him attain Canadian Certified Clinical Supervisor, International Certified Alcohol and Drug Counsellor and Canadian Certified Addiction Counsellor certifications through the CACCF (Canadian Addictions Counsellors Certification Federation).
Jared’s leadership style reflects his respect for others and strong belief in recovery. He represents Last Door well in the community and is always prepared to deal with challenges in a direct manner. Jared is well liked and respected by clients, alumni, staff and Last Door stakeholders and played a pivotal management role in helping Last Door’s accreditation through Accreditation Canada.
