Licensing and Accreditation

The atmosphere of our programs, coupled with clients’ desire for alcohol rehab, drug treatment or substance abuse recovery lays the groundwork for them to develop “and own” their recovery. Last Door programs cultivate a homelike, rather than institutional atmosphere in its treatment centers.

Last Door is committed to Quality Improvement and Safety Assurance

Accredited addiction treatment provider Accredited and licensed facilities ensure safe quality treatment. Accredited treatment centers are invested in quality improvement and assurance.

British Columbian Health Authorities license substance use and mental health programs that adhere to regulations and maintain a city issued business licenses. Inspection reports are posted on Health Authority websites for all licensed facilities.

Last Door maintains a professional and ethical responsibility to ensure residents and their families receive appropriate addiction recovery care while in treatment.

 

Certified Staff

Counsellors have addictions specific education and training and must maintain certifications through the Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation, a member association of the Federation of Associations of Counselling Therapist of BC.  Last Door’s clinical support team collaborates with Addiction Medicine Specialists, and pharmacists to ensure resident’s needs are met throughout treatment.

Accredited Substance Use Programs

Last Door Recovery Society integrates Accreditation Canada’s standards into its operations to improve its programs and services by identifying what we are doing well and where improvements are needed.

Accreditation Canada Four Year Seal was awarded to Last Door Recovery Society for delivery quality addiction treatment. This is a milestone to be celebrated, and we congratulate our staff, board, and the Accreditation Committee for their commitment to providing safe, high-quality addiction health services.

Licensed Care

Last Door is licensed under the Community Care and Assisted Living Act as residential care by the Provincial Ministry of Health and Fraser Health Authority. Fraser Health is accredited by Health Canada and Accreditation Canada and Last Door is accredited by Accreditation Canada which is a world leader in accrediting health facilities and hospitals.

This form of Licensing supersedes requirements for any other accreditation and is based on Provincial legislation including licensing standards. Last Door is subject to additional regular, comprehensive reviews by Fraser Health and Accreditation Canada to ensure that all Fraser Health programming standards, policies and practices.

Board Governance

Last Door Recovery Society is a registered charity and governed by a Board of Directors composed of previous service users and family members. This ensures our operations are governed by those we provide services for and designed in collaboration with clients and their families.

 

Certified Staff

Last Door’s Counsellors are certified with credentials from the CACCF – The Canadian addiction counsellors certification federation, Last Door Staff have master level education, and offers medical support from a Physician with Addiction Credentials. Last Door’s Physician is certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine.

Last Door’s Youth Program and Adult Program are licensed facilities to provide addiction treatment services.

Addiction Treatment Program

MALES 19 AND OLDER
 

Treatment is viewed as a starting point to a healthier, recovery-based life, free from the impacts of active addiction. Primary Care Facilities are located in uptown New Westminster, BC. Clients get immersed into a vibrant recovery community, and learn through experiential learning on how to rebuild their life. Clients also have access to a beautiful retreat property in a rural area.

Youth Addiction Treatment Program

MALES 14 TO 18
 

Experience-based education and learning challenges youth to develop healthy values, attitudes, beliefs and behaviors. The ultimate goal is increased self esteem and improved decision making to support a healthier, recovery-based life, free from the impacts of active addiction. Our clinical teams assist clients to navigate help for mental health challenges, education and job readiness skills.
