Dawn Shares Her Personal Story of Addiction Recovery

Dawn shares her personal experience of overcoming trauma and addiction. Dawn experienced a lot of trauma growing up. When Dawn was young she found her mother overdosed. Her mother was only thirty nine years old. Around this time she was introduced to her drug of choice and fell into the depths of addiction. Dawn went to her first meeting 14 years ago. She only went because she had a DUI and her lawyer suggested that she go because it might help her get off her DUI charge. This was the beginning of her journey into recovery. Dawn thinks words are so powerful and believes in being a part of encouraging people rather than discouraging. Dawn has become passionate about recovery and has found joy in helping others.
